Breast Reduction Procedure
Breast reduction surgery is an outpatient procedure that can take two to three hours to complete. It is carried out under general anesthesia for your comfort and convenience. The surgeon will make an incision around the areolas and down the curve of the breast. Excess skin and fatty tissue will then be trimmed away from the breasts. The remaining skin will be stretched and tightened, resulting in smaller, firmer, more contoured breasts.
Drains might be placed in the incisions to prevent the buildup of fluid, and we will give you instructions for their care. You will be bandaged for several days, and the bandages will require regular changes. These bandages will later be replaced by a supportive surgical bra.
