Erbium laser skin resurfacing can be used on the face, neck, hands, back, or chest. This is a powerful and precise laser used to remove layers of skin from specific areas of the face. Dark-skinned patients who might not be good candidates for other laser procedures typically do well with the erbium laser.

This procedure involves less pain and downtime than traditional carbon dioxide resurfacing. It is carried out with a local anesthetic and mild sedative. Patients can expect to resume their normal activities within 10 days of treatment. Side effects are rare, but redness and mild swelling in the treated areas will probably occur. Please contact our Austin practice a laser skin resurfacing appointment. We serve Round Rock, Georgetown, and the surrounding Texas locations. Dr. Davis also offers dermal fillers like Juvederm and Radiesse® at his office

Fraxel® Laser

Fraxel® is a non-invasive procedure that is used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, sun damage, and discolorations. It is a very safe way to improve the quality of your skin. Fraxel® targets small sections of the skin at a time, so this type of laser resurfacing takes several sessions to complete. It has the additional benefit of stimulating natural collagen production in the patient's skin.

When you undergo a Fraxel® laser skin resurfacing treatment, your face will be cleaned and covered with an anesthetic ointment. Once your face is numb, the anesthetic will be removed and a conductive gel will be applied. The Fraxel® laser will be passed over your skin, along with a stream of cool air to prevent uncomfortable overheating. There is no downtime associated with this procedure, but patients typically experience redness comparable to a mild sunburn.
