Facelift Surgery in Austin - Serving Round Rock, Georgetown, and Beyond

Some people age very gracefully, with wrinkles that form laugh lines or contribute to a very dignified appearance. Others develop less complimentary wrinkles or sagging skin as the passage of time takes its toll. If you are unhappy with these changes to your facial appearance, you might be considering a facelift. At his practice in Austin, serving Round Rock, Georgetown, and surrounding areas, Dr. Bill Davis creates facelift results that look natural.

Facelift Candidates

If you are interested in a facelift (known formally as a rhytidectomy), you will meet with Dr. Davis for a consultation to discuss your goals and expectations and receive answers to your questions. You will also discuss your health and medical history to determine whether you're a good candidate for this procedure. The best candidates for a facelift are between the ages of 30 and 60, are in good overall health, and have relatively elastic skin.

Facelift Procedure

A facelift involves surgically lifting and tightening the face to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin. This is accomplished by making several incisions along the hairline, through which Dr. Davis will remove excess skin and fatty tissue and tighten facial muscles, giving you a smoother and more youthful looking face. The incisions are placed along the hairline so that any resulting scars will not be visible.

Facelift Techniques

If you have deep wrinkles you wish to remove, you may be a candidate for a traditional facelift. If the wrinkles you wish to remove are more shallow, a less invasive technique may be available to suit your needs. Less invasive techniques also have the advantage of faster healing periods with less discomfort. You may also be interested in non-surgical alternatives such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, or another injectable treatments.
